Five years ago, Pete put down a deck in a barely used corner of Marge's Garden. In July this year, a screen house was built over the deck. It's in the shade all day, this time of year, and often has a breeze in the afternoon (if not, we can plug in a fan). Butterflies, dragonflies and hummingbirds are within easy sight.

The screen house is next to the carport.

The roof and its overhang keep rain out.

The garden is between screen house and sidewalk.

The garden is dense and lush.

A half-dozen trees stand over the screen house.

An ornamental sprinkler awaits water.

Two lattice gates were stained to match.

Chairs and a glider now accompany the chaise.

The design is rustic and simple.

The screening is charcoal-colored aluminum.

Rafter ends have the only curves in the building.

Many pieces of trim sharpen the edges.

Now stained, the old deck looks good.

The porch, with Marge, is a walk away.

The garden door is even closer.

It feels like a l-o-n-g way to the street.

Our vintage chaise fits in well.

What a way to add another room to our home!
